Danish design brand Normann Copenhagen presents its Vig Collection, which offers a range of stackable outdoor furniture. From comfortable dining chairs to inviting lounge chairs, elegant chaise longues, versatile benches, stylish barstools, and adaptable tables in various sizes, Vig offers a comprehensive selection to suit different outdoor settings and preferences.
The collection is designed by Simon Legald and made from double powder coated steel for enhanced durability. Vig is built to withstand the rigors of outdoor use, while maintaining its pristine appearance. Each piece in the collection has been designed to ensure resilience and longevity, encouraging years of good use in all weather conditions. In addition, a distinctive feature of the Vig collection is the integration of Robinia (Black Locust) wood, featured on the collection’s tables and available as an optional choice for the seating range. Robinia is renowned for its strength, durability, weather resistance and remarkable resistance to decay, requiring minimal maintenance.
Legalds designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually. 'For me simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my design, I try not to add any unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting the necessities instead of hiding them. It gives the product a simple and honest expression', Legald says.
