Danish furniture brand Fritz Hansen reintroduced the Carimate chair by Vico Magistretti from 1959 in untreated Beech and Black Coloured Ash with paper cord seat.
Originally designed in 1959 for the Carimate golf club north of Milan, from which the chair takes its name, Vico Magistretti’s design became a collectable piece from the Italian designer’s body of work. Magistretti was rigid in his philosophy: there is no excuse for bad design. Dubbed one of the founding fathers of Italian design, he was widely celebrated for his experimental yet strikingly harmonious work that ranged from sleek, high concept furnishings to elaborate architectural façades.
'A strikingly memorable as well as comfortable chair, the Carimate is known for its bold personality and finely detailed construction. Fritz Hansen is proud to reintroduce Magistretti’s charismatic Carimate in natural Beech and Black Coloured Ash with paper cord seat as a pure and honest expression of the design icon. Perfect for creating a bold and memorable dining setting and a must-have for collectors of Magistretti works', the brand mentions in a press release.
