'I started sketching pieces of furniture I thought would make people interact in a playful and informal way,' he tells Architectural Digest. The unintentional resemblance of the sofa to an ear adds a unique touch, symbolizing its intended purpose to foster conversations and comfort. Pattinson and Gordon meticulously crafted the sofa, ensuring a cozy yet robust piece capable of accommodating multiple sitters. Each arm was engineered to support up to 350 pounds.
The prototype displayed at JF Chen marks the beginning of Pattinson's venture into furniture design, with plans to sell six limited series pieces. Joel Chen, impressed by the design's uniqueness, looks forward to Pattinson's further contributions to the furniture design realm.
