The High Point showroom has been put up for sale by Italian furniture supplier Natuzzi. In the company's third-quarter earnings report CEO Antonio Achille mentioned the company's plan to sell non-strategic assets, among which the building in High Point North Carolina.
Valued at $8.4 million, the 0.8-acre property has been a design landmark since its inception in 1998. Italian architect Mario Bellini designed the four-story structure, resembling a ship, featuring a gangplank entrance, porthole-shaped windows, and a moat.
In 2021, the upper floors were transformed by the Italian brand Casa Italia, who made a space dedicated to Italian home furnishings.
The proceeds from the sale will be used to help restructure the company after its reported loss in the third quarter. In addition it will fuel Natuzzi's retail expansion in North America. This year, the company has already opened nearly 2 million square feet of store spaces across the U.S.
