Le Creuset, renowned for its cookware, has been fined 490,112 euros by the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) for imposing prices on distributors. The company intervened when distributors deviated from the pricing policy, resulting in pressure on sellers and the imposition of sanctions. This deprived sellers of the freedom to determine their own selling price.
According to the BCA, the imposition of prices is contrary to European regulations, as it restricts competition. Le Creuset reportedly maintained this policy for 6.5 years and acknowledges the violation, accepting the terms of the settlement.
