500,000 beds recalled in US because of breakage reports

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall for over 500,000 beds manufactured by Home Design, Inc. The recall stems from concerns about the beds breaking or collapsing during use.

The affected recall encompasses various models and sizes of upholstered low profile standard and platform beds. The decision to recall was prompted by 128 reports of bed breakages, with 36 cases resulting in unspecified injuries, as reported by the furniture wholesaler based in Silver Lake, Indiana.

According to the CPSC, the recalled beds have the potential to break, sag, or collapse during use, presenting a risk of falls and injuries to consumers. Approximately 527,177 of these beds were sold in the United States, and 55,847 were sold in Canada, as indicated by the CPSC.
