The substantial surge in revenue is credited to growth across all business sectors, with a particular emphasis on the brand's expansion in the retail channel, boasting a robust network of 115 points of sale spread across more than 50 countries. Throughout the year, Kave Home adjusted store sizes, expanded retail spaces, and strengthened its direct presence in two pivotal Southern European markets, namely France and Italy. This expansion was complemented by the successful launch of franchise establishments in diverse locations, including Guatemala, Bulgaria, Iceland, Hungary, and Singapore. Looking ahead to 2024, Kave Home remains committed to major capitals, with strategic plans to open stores in key cities such as Milan, Rome, and Paris.
Operating seamlessly across five continents, the company has effectively harnessed the duality of its B2C and B2B activities, coupled with the strategic synergy between its physical and online channels. The online channel, in particular, witnessed a remarkable 50% growth compared to the previous year.
In the professional channel, Kave Home continues to solidify its position as a reference brand for designers and architects. Leveraging its extensive catalogue of contract products and a dedicated operational structure for this channel, the company has successfully expanded its presence in high-profile projects, ranging from hotel chains to corporate and restaurant ventures.
Strategic locations and sustainability initiatives
The rapid expansion of the company was made possible by the recent inauguration of its state-of-the-art logistics warehouse in Tordera. This cutting-edge facility, recognised with the prestigious Breeam Excellent certificate for sustainable construction, currently spans an impressive 53,000 square meters in its initial phase, with a storage capacity accommodating 44,000 pallets. Looking ahead, the second expansion phase is slated for 2025, intending to increase the total area to over 100,000 square meters, aligning with the anticipated growth trajectory of the company.
Noteworthy among the sustainable initiatives is Kave Home Tordera's centre for furniture recovery and recycling. This facility has not only enabled the company to increase the number of reclaimed furniture pieces by a significant 40% but has also played a crucial role in giving these items a second life. Additionally, it contributes to the recycling of over 90% of the waste generated at the centre, effectively reducing bulky waste by an impressive 60%. These sustainability efforts are integral to the company's broader initiative, Kave Cares, which includes active participation in the United Nations Global Compact and achieving ClimatePartner certification. In the fiscal year 2022, the company proudly attained scope 1 and 2 emission neutrality.
Future intentions
Following a smooth generational transition, Francesc Julià Ametller, the CEO of the company, has successfully taken the helm of the family project, which now boasts a staggering revenue of over €200 million. The inauguration of the new logistics centre in Tordera, the launch of more than 1,000 new product references, and the introduction of the brand's most culturally significant project, the Kave Gallery, have collectively marked 2023 as a historic year for the company.
Looking forward to 2024, Kave Home has set ambitious goals, including the expansion of its headquarters in Sils to accommodate the anticipated increase in the global workforce, which currently stands at over 600 employees. Additionally, the company aims to establish a dedicated technology centre focused on product development, emphasising its commitment to innovation and growth in the dynamic world of design and decor.
