In the midst of a turbulent economic climate, the FORTE Group finds itself navigating through one of its most demanding periods yet. The group, which encompasses various furniture production plants, released its consolidated financial statement for the 9-month period from April 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, shedding light on the significant hurdles it faces.
Financial struggles
During this period, the FORTE Group witnessed a notable decrease in turnover, amounting to PLN 757,633 thousand compared to PLN 918,378 thousand in the same period the previous year. This decline, attributed to various market factors, resulted in an operating loss of (-)3,941 thousand PLN, a stark contrast to the profit of PLN 56,014 thousand PLN recorded in the same period in 2022.
Several factors contributed to the Group's reduced profitability. A slowdown in the furniture market, coupled with consumer price pressure, led to a decrease in furniture sales across all markets served by the Group. Additionally, a significant decline in demand for furniture panels further exacerbated the situation.

Navigating uncertainty
The ongoing war in Ukraine and geopolitical tensions worldwide add another layer of uncertainty to the Group's operations. Supply chain disruptions, high inflation rates affecting consumer purchasing power, and soaring raw material and energy costs have all taken their toll on FORTE's financial stability and liquidity.
In response to these challenges, the FORTE Group has implemented various initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, optimising logistics, reducing costs, and enhancing energy consumption efficiency. Additionally, efforts to diversify raw material sources and ensure continuity of external financing are underway.
Future outlook
Despite these measures, the Group acknowledges the unpredictability of the future economic landscape and the potential long-term consequences of ongoing geopolitical events. However, they remain committed to weathering the storm and maximizing operational efficiency to mitigate the impact on their business activities and financial results.
