Habitat Design Swiss, a prominent furniture retailer, has officially declared insolvency. This announcement comes alongside the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings, marking a significant turn of events for the company. With operations spanning across Switzerland, Habitat Design Swiss operates two physical stores located in Meyrin and Dübendorf, in addition to maintaining an active online presence. However, amidst financial turmoil, the exact number of employees affected by this development remains uncertain.

This declaration of insolvency follows a similar fate that befell Habitat in France just a few months prior. In France, Habitat faced dissolution through legal channels, closing down its 25 branches and impacting the livelihoods of approximately 400 employees.
The situation in Germany mirrors the challenges faced by its counterparts. In 2020, the Cafom Group, Habitat's parent company, sold its subsidiary to Thierry Le Guénic. Prior to this, Habitat Deutschland GmbH had already entered insolvency proceedings in the preceding year. Consequently, all local branches ceased operations, signifying a significant setback for the brand in the region. Despite this setback, customers in Germany still have the option to purchase Habitat products through the retailer's online platform.
