Unfortunate news from Rauch Möbelwerken: According to the Rhein-Hunsrück-Zeitung, the Mastershausen factory will be closing by the end of 2025. 'The staff will have to look for new employment,' the newspaper quotes the chairman of the works council, Michael Christ. Currently, there are 164 employees. Christ emphasises that this news came out of the blue. 'We are completely taken aback.' Director Rainer Hribar informed the staff yesterday.
The factory primarily produces products in Rauch's high-end segment. The future of the collection remains uncertain. It is possible that it will be integrated into their other factories, as a reader of InteriorDaily has suggested.
Rauch is the largest European provider of wardrobe and bedroom collections. The history of this family-owned company began in 1897 with a small carpentry business. Today, the 4th generation continues the legacy.
