The Norwegian furniture manufacturer Ekornes has recalled employees. The furniture group Ekornes has brought back 10 previously laid-off workers due to increased workload. This was stated by Ekornes' production director, Ola Arne Ramstad, to Sunnmørsposten.
Currently, about 60 employees have been laid off at the furniture manufacturer, affecting both the Sykkylven and Hornindal branches.
The notice of dismissal sent out earlier in the year was limited until the end of April. Ekornes will now assess whether these layoffs will be extended.
On January 9th, it was reported that the Norwegian producer would likely have to make layoffs due to rising living costs and higher interest rates.
