Initially rooted in the Italian and French markets, Italian sofa bed manufacturer Dienne has expanded since they first started going to Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2016. The company was founded by Cecilia Nicoletti and Filippo Direnzo, who started the business together at the ages of 22 and 20. As the company gained traction, it expanded more and more. This year was no exception, as Dienne was present at the fair once again. We talk to Pasquale Cannito, export sales manager at Dienne, to know more about this year's edition.
'Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 was a great experience,' Pasquale says. 'The Milan fair it's always incredible and the atmosphere it's fantastic. We met old and new customers from all over the world. This fair is absolutely the best worldwide stage to show the new products and the new ideas.'
Dienne showcased new fabrics and a few special products this year. 'The main novelty for us is the model Lia. We have created our own mechanism, that allows us to make an armchair of 100cm with a mattress of 80cm. This is the smallest mechanism existing in the market, and also one of the easiest to open. There are no springs, only two gas pistons,' Pasquale explains. 'Another great novelty is the model Tea, we produced it with a special mattress made with pocket springs and a cover that make the mattress extremely elegant and comfortable.'
Other newcomers are the curvy sofa's Dodo and Curvi. A more structural look is seen in the Link model. And lastly, the Cloud model features adjustable side cushions in a lovely rust colour.
The fair in Milan is always the main showcase for Dienne. 'It's where we show all our novelties for the first time,' Pasquale says. Other fairs the brand is attending this year are M.O.W. in Germany in September, High Point Market in the US in October and Brussels Furniture Fair in November.
