Nardi merges design and sustainability in new Maximo sofa

Italian furniture brand Nardi makes long-lasting products, uses entirely recyclable polypropylene and aluminium, and enhances all its products with a recognisable design and an entirely 'Made in Italy' supply chain.

Merging design and sustainability, Maximo is a modular sofa with a frame in regenerated resin and fabrics containing much recycled material that, starting with the single module armchair, allows you to create countless configurations quickly and easily. Its clean, balanced lines extend horizontally, conveying a sense of depth and length.

The recycled resin frame is solid and strong, but made aesthetically light with its modular triangular sections and rounded details. It features large volumes, a deep and comfortable seat, and flexible and harmonious modularity thanks to the back and armrest fixing system. The self-centring cushions also come in generous and cosy dimensions with their elegant textures and fabrics, partly regenerated, and high technical quality: high-performance to withstand being outdoors, removable and washable, they are available in four sophisticated colours. Combined with furnishing cushions with a wider pattern, imperfectly matching shades, they customise and give the sofa soft aesthetic appeal.

The Maximo collection also includes a slatted low table and an accessory pocket that can be attached to the seat. Both are made of recycled plastic. Its potentially endless modularity and huge assortment of colours emphasise the highly versatile design of Maximo, an outdoor living concept that spans from home furnishings to the hospitality sector.

An integral aspect of Nardi's strategy, under the banner of the extensive 'Regeneration' industrial programme for the production of outdoor furniture in used plastic, which also includes Maximo, involves working towards making production processes increasingly sustainable. As of January 2023, all factories use electricity exclusively from certified renewable sources, thanks to a contract that ensures a 100% green supply of energy produced by the Marlengo hydroelectric power plant (Merano, South Tyrol).
