In the Steinhoff accounting scandal, another former manager has been sentenced to prison. As reported by NDR, the Oldenburg Regional Court convicted him of tax evasion, sentencing him to six years in prison and a fine of €252,000. However, the 65-year-old will only serve four years of the prison sentence. This is because the investigation has taken so long.

The ex-manager was accused of making false statements to tax authorities between October 2008 and August 2012. According to the court, this resulted in a tax loss of €6.7 million. The 65-year-old admitted to knowingly falsifying the financial statements but claimed he did not consider the tax implications.
Previously, two other former Steinhoff managers were convicted in connection with the accounting scandal.
