Furniture associations mourn the loss of Nobilia owner Werner Stickling

The German furniture industry associations mourn Werner Stickling and extend their deepest condolences to the family and employees of Nobilia. The owner and former director of the kitchen furniture manufacturer from Verl passed away last Friday at the age of 79.

"The German furniture industry has lost an important and influential entrepreneur," says Andreas Wagner, chairman of the Association of the Wood and Plastic Processing Industries of Westphalia-Lippe. Wagner worked at Nobilia for almost 14 years during his career and fondly remembers his collaboration with Werner Stickling: "The exchange with him was always extremely valuable; his vast experience, profound knowledge, and vision were impressive." Jan Kurth, director of the Association of the German Furniture Industry and the Westphalian Furniture Associations, says: "Werner Stickling will be greatly missed by our industry as a visionary and loyal supporter of the associations."

Werner Stickling joined his father's company in 1967 at the age of 22 and took over the leadership of Nobilia with his brother Heinz three years later. The brothers developed the kitchen furniture manufacturer into a leading provider. In 1996, they withdrew from operational activities. As honorary chairman of the advisory board, Werner Stickling actively participated in the development of his company until the end.

Nobilia says:

''We say goodbye:
Werner Stickling, owner and Honorary Chairman of the nobilia Advisory Board, passed away on 17 May 2024 at the age of 79 after a long illness.

Werner Stickling was and is a great role model for all nobilians. His vision and entrepreneurial spirit shaped the company and were the basis for sustainable growth.
His values and the corporate culture he shaped will continue to be the foundation of the company in the future.

His family, the nobilia management and the employees mourn the loss of a great entrepreneurial personality and an outstanding person.''
