2024 marks a special anniversary for Pedrali: ten years of the Parenthesis collection, designed by Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci. The collection, first presented in 2014 at Salone del Mobile.Milano, reveals from its name the inspiration that guided its creation – enclosed within brackets, these two geometric elements take centre stage while defining the structure.
The Parenthesis collection, which includes coffee tables, bedside tables, containers, and convenient tops, has always stood out for its versatile nature. It adapts to various contexts, from hospitality to workspace to residential settings, following a contemporary yet playful style. The two parentheses, made of oak-veneered plywood, embrace one or more tops, shaping various configurations. Smoother materials such as solid laminate, marble, or Fenix have been chosen for the tops, allowing easy maintenance. For the two brackets, a more natural surface was selected to enhance the tactile experience.
The four versions – round or oval coffee tables with one top, and bedside tables with two tops at different heights – are available in various finishes and colour combinations, giving character to the environments in which they are placed.
Thanks to its versatile yet refined style, the Parenthesis collection has been selected for many different projects. An example is Copernico in Milan, a workspace located a few steps from the Central Station, housing innovative spaces dedicated to coworking for startups and freelance professionals, meeting rooms, event venues, dining areas, and large common spaces. Parenthesis coffee tables are also featured in the common areas of a workspace in Dubai Internet City, the main innovation and technology hub in the region, and within the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office. Furthermore, they can be found in the indoor spaces of MiM hotel in Mallorca and the Origin Kensington restaurant in London.
