Searches for furniture in the UK during April showed mixed results, with outdoor and garden furniture emerging as the most sought-after category once more. This, according to an analysis of Google search data by Big Furniture Group.

Key findings revealed a surge in searches related to 'rattan garden furniture', with a remarkable increase of 2,800%. Specific brand searches such as 'Oak Furnitureland' also saw significant growth, rising by 1,450%. Additionally, searches for 'The Cotswold Company' surged by 90%, while 'Homebase' experienced a 50% increase. Other notable terms included 'garden furniture' (up 40%) and 'bar stool' (also up 40%). Interestingly, searches for 'British Heart Foundation furniture shop online' skyrocketed by over 3,000%, and 'outdoor furniture cushions' saw a 90% rise.
The analysis also encompassed various other furniture-related categories, including mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, and carpets and flooring.
Insights from this data can inform future promotions and marketing strategies, providing valuable insights into consumer search behaviour across various furniture categories.
