Design District, the annual Dutch trade event for interior design, has concluded. On Wednesday 29th, Thursday 30th, and Friday 31st May, the iconic Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam was the place where interior design professionals gathered to discover the latest developments in the sector, network, and find inspiration.
Over the course of three days, the exhibition floor was filled with presentations from nearly 200 indoor and outdoor brands. In addition, Design District featured exhibitions from design academies and young designers, offered one or more lectures, and provided ample opportunity for colleagues to catch up.
The event attracted a total of 7184 visitors, a slight increase of about 100 more than last year when 7111 attendees were recorded. The first day saw 2260 visitors, on Thursday 2458 people entered, and on the last day, 2466 professionals took the opportunity to visit.

Marnon Heuvels, who along with partner Evelien de Leeuw organised the interior event, looks back with satisfaction on the 21st edition. "We are tired, but satisfied," she said on Monday morning. "We are very happy, especially because the participants are happy. The changes we implemented worked out well," Marnon believes.
This year, the emphasis was placed on novelties on the exhibition floor. The exhibitors together presented a beautiful list with prestigious names, as is evident from the photo report made by the editorial team of Wonen360 and InteriorDaily. In addition to many familiar 'favourites', the organisation welcomed about 40 new brands.
"The quality of the visitors was once again good, with many interested interior professionals. The participants were able to make connections that together accounted for a record number of leads of almost 16,000," Marnon reports.
Compared to last year, there were not three, but two filled halls. "But we didn't miss that third hall," says Marnon. According to her, the renewed setup was successful and satisfaction was widespread. "It couldn't have been better. Well, except for the weather..."
