Salvatori updates its Hito and Adda collections

Italian design company Salvatori has announced updates to its Hito and Adda collections.

Adda
The original incarnation of the Adda collection of modular drawers and freestanding and wall-hung washbasins was a nod to the Fifties and Sixties. The warmth of ribbed walnut paired with the coolness of stone to create a look that straddled two eras in a perfect balance between retro charm and the resoluteness of contemporary design.

Over the years, the collection has evolved to offer stone-only versions along with a new variant of wood in the form of Coffee Oak. With the addition this year of Grey Oak and Pale Oak to the repertoire, the mix and match opportunities with Bianco Carrara, Crema d'Orcia, Grigio Versilia, Silk Georgette, Gris du Marais and Pietra d'Avola are once again amplified, while subtle but significant tweaks have also been made to some of the designs.

Hito by Piero Lissoni
The bathroom is the most intimate and personal space in the home, a room inhabited and used in many ways in terms of our rituals and rhythms. This is the premise behind Hito, the new Salvatori bathroom range designed by Piero Lissoni. The name itself comes from the Japanese symbol '人 ' which means "person" and perfectly captures the bespoke concept of the collection, which comprises storage solutions, basins, a mirror, set of drawers and pouf.

First presented at Milan Design Week 2023, Hito's 2024 iteration includes three new compositions in Crema d'Orcia, Silk Georgette and Pietra d'Avola, along with additions to the mirror line-up in the form of a new configuration and the introduction of spherical opaline light bulbs.

The clean lines and pure volumes that are such a hallmark of both Salvatori and Piero Lissoni give form to streamlined pieces and details that would be just as at home in the displays of high-end fashion boutiques. The vanity unit features a series of cubbyholes in a glass and mirror combination or in wood. These are designed to hold more precious objects, while items used for everyday routines, such as makeup, haircare products and grooming accessories, find a home inside a customisable drawer organiser in wood or stone.
