Kvik launches 'KvikLiving': stylish, timeless, and circular

Kitchen manufacturer enters the furniture industry: first collection to be seen at 3 Days of Design

The Danish kitchen manufacturer Kvik introduces KvikLiving, its first-ever furniture collection. The collection consists of two dining chairs and a lounge chair, designed by designers from the Danish agency Hans Thyge & Co. The new chairs are recyclable at the end of their lifespan and will be presented for the first time this week during the Circular Furniture Days, an event that is part of the international design festival 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. This fall, the new collection will be available in all Kvik stores and online.

A first step – from kitchens to furniture, with KvikLiving
With this expansion, Kvik takes its first step towards a holistic offering of Danish design, fitting with the kitchen, bathroom, and wardrobe collections that have been part of the assortment since its inception. Claus Johnsen, head of design at Kvik: "We want to show that we are more than a kitchen brand. The launch of the new dining and lounge chairs feels like the logical next step for us. We are incredibly proud of the result. From this basis, we want to further expand our range in the KvikLiving collection in the coming time."

Circular Furniture Days during 3daysofdesign
In June, Kvik will exhibit the new collection for the first time at the Circular Furniture Days, an event organized by the Lifestyle & Design Cluster in the garden of the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen. This event is part of the international design festival 3daysofdesign. Claus: "The ultimate paradise for the true design enthusiast. Being part of this shows that we have earned our place within the Danish design market."

In addition to the new KvikLiving collection, Kvik will launch a new tool during the event that calculates the impact of their products on the environment. This way, customers will soon see how many recycled PET bottles and recycled wood are in their new kitchen, but also what the CO2 footprint is. Kvik is the first kitchen brand to offer customers this detailed insight. Claus: "Transparency is central to us. In price, but also in the impact of our products on the climate. In this way, we want to help our customers make an informed decision."

A collection that lasts for generations
The new collection from Kvik was designed in collaboration with the designers from the agency Hans Thyge & Co. Christian Milán, product developer at Kvik: "Our goal was to develop a collection that lasts for generations. Our focus was not only on the design but also on the quality, functionality, and the use of certified wood and recycled materials. In KvikLiving, all these elements come together."

The new chairs are made of FSC-certified oak wood and oak veneer and are recyclable at the end of their lifespan – with the exception of the foam used under the upholstered seat. The two dining chairs come in multiple variants: with and without upholstered seating, and in light and dark oak wood. The lounge chair comes in light oak wood with a warm grey upholstery.
