Breckle Northeim, facing insolvency, is poised for closure after failing to find a buyer despite interest, notably from Eastern Europe, which withdrew due to concerns over Germany's general economic conditions. Managing director Christian Paar confirmed that the company, encompassing Breckle GmbH Matratzenfabrik, Breckle Polsterbetten GmbH, Lapur GmbH, and PB Holding GmbH Northeim, will cease operations by August at the latest.
The German mattress company officially filed for bankruptcy this June. The Northeim production plant, spanning over 80,000 square meters and boasting a daily output of 3,000 mattresses, and holds a significant position as one of Europe's largest mattress and upholstered bed factories. However, despite their longstanding presence since their founding in 1932, the company seems to have buckled under economic pressure.

While there remains a potential buyer for Lapur GmbH's foam production, details are uncertain. The closure will impact approximately 250 employees, with 100 already laid off and more impending, as Paar indicated plans to complete existing orders with a reduced workforce.
