Freifrau's take on the 'Low Dining' trend

The current trend of Low Dining, previously observed predominantly in outdoor settings, is now making its way into exclusive hotel lobbies and private living spaces.

Freifrau, the renowned brand for seating furniture from Lemgo, is embracing this movement by introducing chairs from the Nana and Marie collections with lower seat heights. As a pioneer in the industry, Freifrau has developed the chairs from the Nana collection by Hanne Willmann and the newly introduced Marie family by Hoffmann Kahleyss Design with a slightly reduced seat height of 42 cm.

Nana
With the Nana collection, the synthesis of clean lines and sublime softness enters the realm of Low Dining. Under the creative direction of Hanne Willmann, who made an impressive debut as a designer for Freifrau with this design, a chair has emerged that celebrates the art of upholstery. The fusion of straight-line design without unnecessary embellishments and an unparalleled softness makes the Nana chair a true masterpiece. Inspired by all things soft and voluminous, the model evokes fragments of clouds. Despite its voluminous appearance, the chair captivates with elegance and sophistication, aiming to achieve the highest seating quality even at a low Low Dining height.

Marie
In addition, the Marie design is part of Freifrau's Low Dining offering. With a casually wrinkled back shell, the chair creates an inviting atmosphere, perfectly matching the relaxed character of Low Dining. The loose padding of the shell seamlessly integrates into a delicate steel frame, with the back rail enhancing Marie's laid-back appearance. The design emphasizes openness and receptivity, offering a wealth of fabric and leather covers to suit every taste.

The Low Dining versions of Marie are available with and without armrests. Niklas Helweg, CEO of Freifrau, highlights the versatility of the Low Dining chairs, 'The low seat height not only enhances traditional dining situations but also opens up entirely new possibilities in other applications.'

These flexible chairs are ideal, for instance, when combined with the new modular Mia sofa from Freifrau, creating versatile seating groups with multifunctional use options. Particularly in commercial settings, the combination of Low Dining tables and chairs with a sofa offers new approaches for communication and exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.
