Sofa inspired by Ross Gellar's memorable couch-moving scene in Friends

A new innovation in furniture design, 'Strung', offers a solution to the challenges of moving and maximizing space with its transformative capabilities. The innovative design piece was recently showcased at the Made in Brunel exhibition.

Designed by a final-year student from Brunel Design School, this couch transitions from a three-seater sofa into a single lounge chair, providing adaptability and ease of transportation. This feature makes it ideal for urban dwellers and anyone who frequently relocates.

The sofa utilises tension and movable seat panels instead of traditional fixtures, allowing for straightforward assembly and disassembly. Its lightweight and collapsible design ensure that it can fit into the trunk of a car, eliminating the logistical headaches associated with moving large furniture pieces.

Inspired by the common struggles of moving, such as Ross Geller's infamous 'Pivot!' couch-moving scene from Friends, 'Strung' addresses practical concerns while promoting sustainability.
