Part 2/5: Notto and Carpe Diem Beds

These are the best-read interviews on InteriorDaily

Since launching InteriorDaily in January, we've published hundreds of news articles, including numerous insightful and exclusive interviews that have resonated well with our readers. As we reflect on the first half of 2024, we're taking a moment to revisit some of our most popular interviews.

This week, from Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19, we'll be showcasing the top 10 most-read interviews! Yesterday we started off with the 9th and 10th spots on our list, now it's time for number 7 and 8.

8. Managing Director at Notto Krzysztof Dukat:
'Challenges are caused by inflation, war and turbulences'

In a recent interview with Krzysztof Dukat, the Managing Director of Polish furniture manufacturer Notto. We delved into the company's origins, its growth and its vision for the future, but also the market challenges the furniture industry is facing at the moment.

Notto primarily caters to European markets, focusing on Benelux, Germany, France, Austria, and Southern Europe. Despite challenges, Notto has carved a niche in the middle-class furniture sector, aiming to establish itself as a reliable partner for wholesalers and agents. Especially the market conditions in Germany are tough Krzysztof explains: 'Generally the biggest and most important challenges are caused by inflation, war and turbulences. So of course the amount of customers in Germany is much lower. What we observe on the market is a 20 percent decrease in sales. But in every European country we can see the number of individual orders is lower. Our objective is to try to work very hard, to actively focus on repair and gain customers. So generally our market position is not the same percentage. We are going up, because we already have new customers on the market.'

7. Interview with Helen RK Jensen, VP Brand at Carpe Diem Beds:
'The beds were inspired by the islands in the archipelago on the west coast of Sweden'

When it comes to bedrooms, the Swedish brand Carpe Diem Beds believes they are more than just a place to rest one's head, it's a sanctuary. 'That's why we offer everything you need for the bedroom. Carpe Diem Beds is a lifestyle brand. We offer more than just a bed,' explains Helen RK Jensen, VP Brand at Carpe Diem Beds. We interviewed her to know more about the brand's origins, the new Iconic Collection they just launched and the upcoming 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.

The new collection is launched at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen as well. 'We have a flagship store right in the city centre. The store will be entirely redone with the new collection. And we're also joining "Enter the Salon" in the Conary, a beautiful old townhouse in central Copenhagen. Enter the Salon is a curated joint exhibition of 8 international brands. It's a space where design, art and poetry converge, creating a seamless blend of the past with the present,' Helen says.
