Belgian home décor chain Casa is strategically closing 25 stores in France, following a recent shutdown of twelve branches in the Netherlands. Despite these closures, there are no immediate plans for shutdowns in Belgium. Casa is now focusing on fostering synergies with other chains, particularly with Inno, which was acquired by the Swedish retail group Axcent of Scandinavia and Icelandic investment company Skel.
In April, Swedish entrepreneur Ayad Al-Saffar acquired Inno through his company AAS Retail, although he quickly transferred leadership to CCO Frank Pruijn to concentrate on other ventures. Previously, Al-Saffar and Pruijn had worked together at Kijkshop, a Dutch discount chain. This leadership change positions Pruijn to execute Casa's revitalisation strategy.

While the closures in France were anticipated and negotiated with local unions, there are no additional closures planned in either France or Belgium. AAS Retail reassures stakeholders that these actions reflect strategic investment in Casa's future, emphasising their commitment to long-term growth and value creation.
