In the first half of 2024, the German kitchen furniture industry saw its sales decline stabilize at approximately -10.8%, according to the preliminary monthly report by the Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry, covering up to the end of May 2024.
Following significant fluctuations in March (-27.14%) and a recovery in April (+8.25%), sales by the end of May once again showed a negative trend. The industry generated just under 2.4 billion euros in revenue, with about 1.3 billion euros from domestic sales and 1.1 billion euros from international transactions, marking decreases of -11.6% and -9.8% respectively compared to the same period last year. Despite these declines, the export share increased slightly by 0.49% to an average of 45.8%.

Employment in the kitchen furniture industry decreased by approximately -0.92% compared to 2023. As of March 2024, the VdDK (Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry) counted 46 companies employing 50 or more people, down from 47 the previous year.
