Take a look inside the Milele yacht designed with de Sede

The Milele yacht is extensively embellished with choice de Sede leather: on the interior walls, the hand-made drawer handles, and the countless sculptures that invite users to sit back, relax, and enjoy life.

Andrew Bryan has a clear recollection of the day six years ago. Now retired, the designer was presented with an unusual request from a Dutch sales team member: 'It concerned the entire interior design on a yacht.' The order that was placed reads like a list of samples from the de Sede icon range. And what's more: complex orders for leather-clad wall panels and exquisite handles.

It's no coincidence that the manufacturing company from Klingnau played a leading role in this interior design project: the owner of the yacht is a long-standing, highly satisfied customer of de Sede and waxes lyrical about them. 'The quality is unparalleled, the skill is outstanding, and the indomitable will to achieve the best results is simply marvelous.' Bryan confirms this: 'In this project, we did not say no to any of the demands.'

The tailored furniture from de Sede blends in perfectly in every single area of the yacht. The three cabins on the lower deck, which accommodate eight guests, are a sign of luxury and well-thought-out design, while the owner's suite on the main deck is a place of retreat and a home, equipped with a private office.

In 2019, the owner onboarded Hanff to take charge of the interior and exterior areas of the yacht – a lucky move as two kindred spirits came together and found a competent partner in de Sede. Martin Hanff: 'The owner wanted to be taken seriously, paid attention to the smallest of details with great knowledge and expertise, and trusted me wholeheartedly.' According to Hanff, the yacht owner made many demands but also had a lot to give: 'I will never forget the gleam in his eye when we found yet another solution. He's the first customer that I actually came to miss as an individual too.'

The experienced yacht owner was heavily involved in the design process and was supported in the construction by the Swiss luxury yacht firm Ocean Independence and the renowned Dutch ship designer Martin Hanff. A love of detail is apparent in every single aspect, from the fully equipped gym to the works of art and a central spiral staircase with stylishly curved wood paneling. The interior spaces are both beautiful and functional. The floor-to-ceiling windows all around on both decks flood the interior with natural light and create a genuine connection between the yacht and its surroundings.

And the yacht conceals yet another surprising accessory: a two-person submarine 'parked' in the bow gives guests who want to dive into the depths of the ocean from the comfort of their home at sea the chance to take an underwater journey down to a depth of 100 meters!
