Swedish king tests cardboard beds at the Olympics

Sweden's King Carl Gustaf visited the Olympic village in Saint-Denis, near Paris, on Thursday, where he personally tested the much-discussed cardboard beds. These beds, which already attracted attention during the Tokyo Games, are being used again during the current Olympics and are the subject of discussion on social media.

At least the Swedish handball players were not too happy with the beds. 'We raised the issue before the Games, we can't take the risk of sleeping badly. Much of the team has now ordered new mattresses from IKEA. At the Tokyo Olympics, the IOC still had a sponsor who provided mattresses for the participants, that is not the case here and that is why we just went to IKEA in Paris,' Swedish handball star Jamina Roberts told IKEA immediately after the start of the Olympics.
