Villa il Gioiello lies in the hills around Florence like the subject of a romantic painting: with asophisticated dialogue between historical and modern elements, the Italian studio Pierattelli Architetture has completely reinterpreted the time-honoured manor house. The custom-made interior is complemented by a large number of important works of art from the 20th century. Fittings from Dornbracht fit seamlessly into the overall concept.

The magic of the past
Half hidden by trees and old stone walls, the villa is surrounded by hills in the Tuscan countryside. Pierattelli Architetture completely redesigned the interior of the 700 square metre, centuries-old building in 2024. The studio set itself the task of preserving the magic of the past, whilst also taking into consideration the requirements of contemporary living. It was equally as important to do the owner's art collection justice, which includes numerous works by famous artists and sculptors of post-war modernism, including Alighiero Boetti, Ettore Spalletti and Mario Schifano.

Dornbracht fittings in the kitchen and bathrooms
In the classic Tuscan country house kitchen, dark teak wood fronts harmonise beautifully with the marble worktops and their delicate, light grey tones. Together with the stainless steel surfaces of the imposing stove, Elio in Brushed Platinum completes the stylish ensemble. Dornbracht fittings also make a decisive contribution to the aesthetics of the bathrooms: in the main bathroom, where white Carrara marble, blackish-green Verde delle Alpi marble, and walnut wood alternate, Vaia fittings in Brushed Gold (23.9kt) create a discreetly luxurious atmosphere.

The balanced and elegantly reduced forms of the fittings created by Sieger Design play their part in combining old and new. A freestanding bath and the Aquamoon experience shower underscore the sophisticated ambiance. In the remaining bathrooms, Vaia fittings in Brushed Platinum are incorporated into the design in an unassuming way, allowing the elegant Carrara marble surfaces to take the stage.
