Interior designer Shea McGee styles the table for fall

As fall approaches and dining tables become central to hosting and entertaining, interior designer Shea McGee has offered practical tips for styling a table for the colder seasons.

Instead of traditional bouquets, McGee suggests using decorative pieces that are both attractive and functional. Her approach involves creating groupings of decor items with varied heights to add visual interest. For example, pairing a tall vase with a shorter bowl can create a balanced centrepiece.

McGee emphasises that these items should look appealing on their own, whether or not they are filled with flowers or fruit. This approach not only enhances the table's aesthetic but also maximizes functionality, especially useful when table space is limited during gatherings. Using decor items that serve dual purposes—such as a vase that can be used with or without flowers and a bowl that can hold fruit—can streamline your setup and keep the table organised.

By integrating these principles, you can achieve a curated and stylish dining table display without the constant need for fresh floral arrangements, making your table both beautiful and practical for everyday use and special occasions alike.
