Silk adds an elegant touch, whether worn as a dress, used as a sheet or used on the wall. Arte's Wild Silk collection transforms silk into wallcoverings, with luxurious materials enriching interiors with deep, natural tones.
A symbiosis of silk and cotton
One of the stars of the Wild Silk collection is the Katia Silk design. This wallcovering consists of an interplay of 80% hand-spun Katia silk and 20% cotton. The origins of that silk date back to the cocoon of the wild silk butterfly. Indeed, the short, soft threads of the cocoon form the base of the fabric and are spun into thick, irregular yarns. The irregularity of the silk creates a surprising pattern. By weaving the silk with cotton, you get a result with a matt-gloss effect.
Pure elegance
The Pure Silk wallcovering is an example of the rich couture that Arte delivers time and again. This design comes from 100% real silk. Threads of different thicknesses were integrated into this piece, which together with the uneven knots of the thread creates an authentic pattern. This craftsmanship is used by Katia silk yarns to add a subtle sheen to the whole, with a beautiful result that comes in a variety of shades.
Hand-woven gold
The Ghicha Silk design from the Wild Silk collection is created by carefully weaving silk. The silk used comes mainly from India's indigenous wild silkworms. This royal fabric is spun by hand during a labour-intensive process, which is why you may detect small irregularities in the wallcovering. These may seem like flaws, but are actually just what makes the pattern so authentic and natural.
