'To sleep is to be distracted from the world,' says Jorge L. Borges. Consequently, from a bed, one should first and foremost expect help in achieving sleep and, with it, an escape from the world. Of course, this is not entirely true: the Bobo bed is an immediate demonstration of this. Even a simple glance reveals that Bobo is much more than a piece of furniture intended for people to sleep on.
Bobo is simultaneously an island, a system, and even—as its designer describes—a marker of time, a revised and corrected citation of the 1970s, a magical period in design history.
Bobo is a versatile double bed system, available in a platform version or with a low or high headboard. The complete Bobo bed configuration includes a unit with integrated night stands, which can be equipped with LED lighting and speakers with Alexa support.
The bed upholstery is available in both fabric and leather, while the unit, which rests on the floor with small feet in a matte black finish, can be lacquered in either glossy or matte in all the colours available in our sample collection as well as wooden finishes.
With its intelligent and bold design, Bobo fits perfectly into both spacious and more intimate, cosy environments, depending on the chosen configuration.
About the designer
Jorge L. Borges, the great Argentine who wrote about dreams like no other, might have appreciated that Bobo was designed by a young mind (Federico Galbiati was born in Milan in 1997) educated and trained in Milan, in that crucible of applied creativity that is IED.
It is easy to guess Federico Galbiati's passion; just look at his Bobo to understand that he specialises in the design and renovation of luxury apartments around the world. An idea of beauty that, in any case, helps to be distracted from the world.
