Piet Boon Studio designs Formula 1 Grand Prix trophy

Last weekend, the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix was held, presenting the official trophies for the 2024 race. Drawing inspiration from the classic 1939 model, this year's design continues the legacy crafted by Studio Piet Boon, who also designed the 2021 and 2023 trophies.

The trophy's shape, crafted by Studio Piet Boon, preserves its historical significance, echoing the design from the early Dutch motorsport era. In addition to this, Studio Piet Boon also designed the Dutch coat of arms symbol, the 'Lion,' further enhancing the trophy's connection to Dutch heritage and tradition.

Contribution by Robbie Williams
Robbie Williams, international pop star and avid Formula 1 fan, adds a personal graphic touch to the trophies for the drivers. Inspired by his recent exhibition at the Moco Museum in Amsterdam, Williams' design explores themes such as mental health and the pressures of stardom—a reflection of the mental challenges faced by Formula 1 drivers.

Constructors' Trophy by Marcel van Luit
Marcel van Luit, known for his surrealistic art, has designed the Constructors' Trophy. His graphic design blends the natural beauty of Zandvoort with the dynamic speed of Formula 1, giving a modern twist to the traditional Delft blue.

Craftsmanship by Royal Delft
Royal Delft, renowned for its iconic Delft Blue pottery and centuries-old craftsmanship, has meticulously crafted each trophy. Their expertise ensures that the designs by Williams and Van Luit are brought to life with precision and elegance.
