John Lewis responds to early interest in Christmas decorations

John Lewis has launched its online Christmas shop, responding to early interest from shoppers eager to prepare for the festive season. The department store reports a 30% increase in searches for Christmas tree decorations and baubles compared to last year, signalling strong consumer interest.

The Christmas themes for 2024? 'Sugar & Spice', 'Wisdom & Wonder', 'Dawn & Dusk', and 'Trinket & Treasure'.

This year, John Lewis anticipates that supersised wreaths and oversized bows will be popular, with 'doorscaping' and experimenting with scale emerging as key trends. The retailer also notes a growing preference for larger Christmas trees, reintroducing its 8-foot tree due to high demand.

Additionally, the brand Jellycat will feature in the Christmas shop for the first time, driven by a 100% increase in year-on-year searches.
