Yamamoto will be the 13th Pritzker Prize Laureate to deliver the prestigious Keynote Lecture at Cersaie, underscoring the show's reputation as a leading venue for international architecture. Previous Pritzker Laureates who have spoken include Renzo Piano, Toyo Ito, Shigeru Ban, Kazuyo Sejima, Francis Kéré, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster, Thom Mayne, Shelley McNamara, Rafael Moneo, Glenn Murcutt, and Eduardo Souto De Moura.

Born in Beijing in 1945, Riken Yamamoto moved to Yokohama, Japan after World War II. The son of an engineer and a pharmacist, he earned his bachelor's degree from Nihon University in 1968 and a Master of Arts in Architecture from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1971. He founded his firm, Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop, in 1973, which he continues to lead. Yamamoto's work, predominantly in Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea, includes private residences, social housing, educational facilities, and museums. His only major project outside Asia is The Circle Convention Center in Zurich. Yamamoto's architectural philosophy emphasizes the integration of homes into cities and the importance of the relationship between community and family.

Cersaie 2024, taking place in Bologna from September 23 to 27, will further solidify its status as a premier global showcase for innovative materials and solutions, and a key platform for sharing experiences in international architecture.
