Carpetright has filed for bankruptcy in Belgium, leading to the closure of all 16 stores in the country. This follows the company's earlier collapse in the UK, where it had already faced significant downsizing.

The Belgian stores had hoped to survive despite the financial troubles of their British parent company, but those hopes have now evaporated, as reported by VTM Nieuws. The company has also shut down its Belgian webshop.
In the UK, Tapi, a competitor, acquired about 20% of Carpetright's stores at the end of July, resulting in the closure of 218 locations. At that time, it was stated that the 104 remaining stores in Belgium and the Netherlands would continue operations. However, the future of Carpetright's European presence remains uncertain.
