LS Invest, the owner of ES Group, announces the relaunch of Basta; the iconic and sustainable design label founded in 2023 by Marcel Wanders and Finnish entrepreneurs Joel Roos and Stefan Mahlberg.
ES Group is the parent company of Easysofa, among others. Owners Sylwia and Lex van Verseveld see sustainable design as the way forward in the furniture industry. This makes the addition of Basta an essential addition to their business activities. "In an era where we will have to take serious steps to reduce waste as much as possible and minimize CO₂ emissions, we see a serious market emerging for affordable and conscious design products. Basta responds to this perfectly with its powerful name that simply means.... done with it!"
Sustainable, recycled materials are used and each piece of furniture is practical to use due to its washable removable upholstery.
In addition, the furniture is packed in reusable luggage bags, allowing it to be delivered completely plastic-free.
Local production is a key focus of Dutch New Design in Dreumel (The Netherlands) - also part of LS Invest - which will continue production of the sofa, which has a modular design. ''With this relaunch, Basta will be repositioned as the sustainable design sofa of today, perfectly tailored to a conscious target group that strives for aesthetics without compromising on sustainability,'' said the new owners.
