The turnover of enterprises in Belgium, excluding the agricultural and financial sectors, amounted to €409 billion in the second quarter of 2024, marking a 0.9% decrease compared to the same period the previous year.

This decline is primarily due to decreased turnover in the trade, manufacturing, and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sectors. Additionally, a smaller decline was noted in mining and quarrying, though this sector is relatively minor. Together, these four sectors account for 72% of the total turnover of Belgian enterprises.
In contrast, all other economic sectors experienced increases in turnover during the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.
