Imports of Denmark goods fell in July

In July, total imports of Denmark goods and services decreased by 1.1% to DKK 141.3 billion. Conversely, total exports increased by 0.2% to DKK 174.0 billion. Over the past three months, total imports have risen by 1.0%, while exports have increased by 4.7%. These figures are adjusted for normal seasonal fluctuations and are based on current prices.

Machinery contributes to large balance of payments surplus in July
In July, the current account surplus reached DKK 35.3 billion, a decrease of DKK 0.3 billion compared to June. The surplus on goods grew by DKK 2.6 billion in July, primarily due to an increase in the surplus on goods crossing the Danish border, driven by a rise in machinery exports.

The current account surplus for January-June 2024 has been revised upwards by DKK 13.0 billion compared to the previous publication. Income was adjusted upwards by DKK 18.4 billion, while expenses were revised upwards by DKK 5.4 billion.
