As colder days approach, it's time to reflect on this year's interior design trends and anticipate those that will continue into 2025. Homes & Gardens provides five colour trends which will last into the new year:
Dark, earthy colours
This year has seen a strong appeal for dark, earthy tones like deep green and chocolate brown, which add warmth and drama to spaces. Designers, such as Studio McGee, have showcased these hues in small rooms for a cosy, yet dramatic effect.

Warm neutrals
Warm-toned neutrals, as opposed to cooler shades, have been a stand-out trend this year. These include warm whites with subtle yellow undertones and richer shades like beige.
Red
Red has emerged as a bold choice for 2024, shifting from an accent colour to a central theme in some interiors. Behr's 2025 Colour of the Year, Rumors, a ruby red, suggests that red will continue to make a strong impact in home décor, adding a sophisticated touch without overwhelming spaces.
Calming blues and greens
Gentle blues and greens have become popular alternatives to traditional neutrals.
Colour drenching
Colour drenching—painting an entire room in one colour, including walls, ceilings, and trim—has gained traction. This technique avoids stark contrasts and creates a cohesive look.
