Asad Syrkett has resigned as Editor In Chief of Elle Decor after a mere four-year tenure. In the meantime, Stellene Volandes will remain as the magazine's editorial director.
Syrkett, who took over in 2020 following Whitney Robinson's exit, made a significant impact from his first issue. Syrkett aimed to modernise Elle Decor while maintaining its traditional design roots, emphasising both industry trends and broader cultural conversations.
He expressed a commitment to keeping the magazine's content fresh and engaging, encouraging readers to discover new and surprising design ideas. The decision to step down also comes as a surprise to many, since stepping down after only a short tenure has not been done often in the magazine's history.
