A German kitchen manufacturer is set to make its return to the UK market next year, following its insolvency in 2022. The company, known for its Tio kitchen range, faced financial difficulties in September 2022 following a significant IT failure caused by a local power outage. This failure disrupted production processes, leading to the company's insolvency proceedings, which concluded in December 2022.

In 2023, the company, Rational, launched its successor company, 'wf rational küchen GmbH' which has now restored its production capabilities. Kitchens from the new company are set to be delivered from Germany starting January 2025. Rational has managed to recover a significant amount of data previously lost through collaboration with KBB software company Cyncly, allowing it to resume operations and service retailers.
To mark its strong comeback, Rational will be participating in this year's in-house exhibition from September 21–26, showcasing new materials, lighting technology, and high-quality interior fittings.
Beyond Europe, Rational is expanding its presence in China, with exhibitions in 15 cities and project orders worth "double-digit millions" signed in recent months. The company is also gearing up for significant developments in the US market. In March 2024, the Chiarabella Gallery in Atlanta became the first retail showroom in the US to feature Rational kitchens.
