Porsche and Pantone present Turbonite in the Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report

Twice a year, the Pantone Colour Institute publishes the Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report, offering a preview of influential and innovative colours. For the first time, in the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) edition (September 4-8, 2024), Pantone introduces Turbonite, a custom colour developed by Porsche for its Turbo models. This marks the first time Pantone has featured an automotive brand's colour in its report. Since late 2023, Porsche has been refining the appearance of its Turbo derivatives using this elegant metallic grey.

Turbonite's Unique Appeal
Michael Mauer, Vice President of Style Porsche, expresses pride in Porsche being the first non-fashion brand included in the Pantone report. He describes Turbonite as a timeless, innovative colour that exudes strength without being overly loud, representing the Porsche Turbo series' signature confident look. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, believes Turbonite will significantly impact the perception of the Porsche brand and design trends.

Turbonite's design and features
Turbonite's gold-tinted elements create a striking metallic effect, complemented by a satin-matte finish. It is featured on various components of Porsche's Turbo models, including the rear lettering, side window borders, and the exclusive Porsche crest. Inside, Turbonite enhances trim strips, belt straps, and controls such as the mode switch and air conditioning. In combination with a black interior, it serves as a contrasting accent on seats and door panel stitching.

Porsche's expansive colour programme
In 2024, Porsche refreshed its colour palette across all models. Customers can choose from a wide array of standard and custom colours, including the highly individualized "Paint to Sample" options, which offer more than 170 colors from Porsche's history.

Pantone's Fashion Colour Trend Report provides a reference for designers, retailers, and brands worldwide, highlighting the season's key colors from the Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors colour system.
