The orange sofa from the world-famous TV series Friends was recently auctioned off for an impressive 26,000 euros. This piece of furniture, on which the main characters often sat in the famous Central Perk café, turned out to be worth much more than previously thought. The sofa was expected to fetch just a few thousand euros, but fans of the series clearly thought otherwise.

Besides the sofa, other recognisable items from Friends were also sold during the auction, including a chest of drawers, a pouf and clothes worn by the actors. The auction was organised to mark the series' 30th anniversary this year. For many fans, it is a chance to take home a piece of nostalgia, as Friends remains a beloved series even decades later, both among younger generations and those who followed the show from the beginning.
The proceeds from the auction show how popular and influential Friends still is, even 30 years after the first episode.
