Veronese unveils 'Jardin d'Hiver'

'Reimagining the French winter garden through a 1970s lens'

Showcasing an exceptional blend of creativity and artistic synergy, Veronese unveils its new scenography, 'Jardin d'Hiver', which made a striking debut during Paris Design Week. The installation, now open to the public at 327 rue Saint Martin, 75003 Paris until June 1, 2025 and reimagines the timeless French winter garden through a 1970s lens, blending nostalgic charm with modern sophistication.

Under Ruben Jochimek's creative direction, Jardin d'Hiver draws on the 1970s' distinctive approach to living: a focus on relaxation, family, and the pleasures of being at home. The design reflects a shift toward creating spaces that are not just beautiful but also meaningful and connected with light, nature, and elegance—the three core inspirations for the scenography.

'The concept was to build a cocoon-like environment, akin to the winter gardens of traditional French homes—a sanctuary that seamlessly merges the inside and outside worlds,' says Jochimek. The result is a scenography that transports visitors to a different time, invoking a sense of tranquillity and the luxurious indulgence of life's simple pleasures.

Crafted spaces and timeless details
'Jardin d'Hiver' is a carefully composed symphony of design elements that celebrates the fluidity between past and present. The showroom features collaborations with distinguished names such as Galerie Vauclair, whose rattan furniture selections, including the iconic Emmanuelle chair, bring an authentic 1970s spirit. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Emmanuelle chair, making it central to the exhibition. Haymann Editions contributes curated pieces that balance modernity with nostalgia, while Toulemonde Bochart rugs add texture and warmth. Artworks curated by The Spaceless Gallery provide poetic accents, while Veronese designs by talents such as Dan Yaffet, Tal Lancman, Maurizio Galante, and others enhance the nostalgic atmosphere.

Veronese's signature lighting plays a starring role, where the interplay of light and shadow shifts throughout the day, creating a cocoon-like atmosphere. Classic Murano glass chandeliers are reimagined in new colourful tones, including Ocean Mist Blue, adding vibrancy and sophistication to the design.

Colour is a vital backdrop in the Jardin d'Hiver installation, creating harmony across the various spaces. A bespoke colour palette, developed in collaboration with Tonester Paints, reflects a unique partnership inspired by Veronese's legacy as a French luxury design house.

The palette includes four distinct colours:

  • 'Afterhours', a deep, almost-black purple, providing a rich presence.
  • 'Eden Garden', a vibrant, nature-inspired green, mirroring the essence of a winter garden.
  • 'Saint Martin', a bright turquoise, evoking the freshness of crisp winter skies.
  • 'Bloomhouse', a soft mauve that adds understated elegance.
