The recent Venice Glass Week 2024 (held from September 14 to 22) was a vibrant celebration of glass artistry which highlighted the city's rich heritage while embracing modern creativity. This eighth edition of the festival featured over 260 events, including exhibitions, guided tours, demonstrations, and conferences, attracting 230 participants from 45 countries under the theme 'A World of Glass'.

Among the prominent exhibitors was iDOGI, a Venetian company established in 1968, known for its artistic glass and lighting designs. They unveiled Èrato, a stunning luminous sculpture measuring 180 cm in diameter and 240 cm high, inspired by the Greek Muse of song and love poetry. This intricate piece is crafted from blown glass, crystal, marble, and steel, featuring 18 elegantly curved glass arms in shades of straw and tobacco. Èrato not only serves as a visual centerpiece but also offers a multisensory experience with an integrated LED lighting system and wireless sound, transforming light into a poetic expression.
The festival not only showcased the craftsmanship of glass but also emphasizes the connection between historical techniques and contemporary innovation. Guided tours of historic foundries and unique initiatives like the Glass Bateo—a boat narrating the history of Murano glass—immersed visitors in the rich cultural tapestry of the region. Major venues for the festival included The Venice Glass Week HUB and Under35 at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, alongside notable events like The Glass Banquet at the Gallerie dell'Accademia.
