US home and furniture companies impacted by Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc across the Southeast, especially in western North Carolina, leading to over 100 deaths across six states, with at least 35 fatalities in Asheville's surrounding county. The storm caused severe damage, leaving many without basic resources. North Carolina's design industry, concentrated in Asheville, was particularly hard-hit.

Local businesses such as East Fork pottery, Antique Tobacco Barn, and Atomic Furnishing & Design reported extensive damage to their retail spaces, temporarily halting operations. The debut of House Beautiful's Whole Home 2024 showhouse, originally set for October in Asheville, was delayed. Efforts to raise funds for those affected include support from High Point Market Authority and local designers.
