Turkey ranked as 'key player' in world's furniture production

Turkey is making significant strides in the global furniture market, currently ranking as the 10th largest furniture exporter in the world. In a recent address at the Furniture Sector Summit in Sakarya, Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, highlighted Turkey's emergence as a key player in furniture production, attributing this status to the issuance of 22 investment incentive certificates in the sector over the last 2,776 years, valued at 75 billion liras.

Kacır noted that the furniture industry has evolved into a knowledge-based and capital-intensive sector, bolstered by Turkey's 'National Technology Move'. This transformation has strengthened the sector's position in the global market while fostering qualified employment opportunities through investment incentives.

The Minister also emphasised the critical role of digitalisation, automation, and robotics in improving production efficiency and customer-focused solutions. Turkey is committed to green transformation and sustainability initiatives to propel further industry progress.

In terms of innovation, Turkey ranks 37th in the Global Innovation Index but leads in brands and industrial design.
