Trends Up West set for next year's show

'We will intensify our activities for both visitors and exhibitors'

Trends Up West is set to bring the lifestyle industry together from June 28 to 30 next year, at the Areal Böhler. The trend show has already seen 29 registrations and over 50 reservations since it began marketing for its 7th edition. Official registration is now open for a Trends Up West that will undergo significant development in the coming year.

'We're building on a solid foundation, having gained many new fans and friends at this year's fair. Our TUW community is growing. Now we will intensify our activities for both visitors and exhibitors,' says Willo Blome (blomus), who co-organises Trends Up West with Florian Burghard (sompex) and Marco Hübecker (fleur ami).

With 240 brands, Trends Up West made a strong impact in the retail sector this past summer. Over 3,000 industry visitors attended the event in Düsseldorf on the last weekend of June, with 80% rating it as "interesting" or "very interesting."

'We spent a long time considering how to realign Trends Up West after the pandemic. We never doubted the format; timing was key. Trends Up West will now be held annually in the second half of the year, establishing itself as the leading consumer goods fair. Innovations for the coming year will be showcased here for the first time, and there's a strong motivation among visitors to explore the offerings,' explains Florian Burghard (sompex).

The lifestyle show will enter its seventh round in 2025, aiming to present 300 brands across 15,000 square meters of exhibition space in the Alte Schmiedehalle and Kaltstahlhalle. Exhibitors can take advantage of an early booking discount until November 22. The Outdoor & Living theme will be further developed in 2025, fitting seamlessly into the structure of other areas like Home, Deco & Fashion, Gift & Paper, and Cook, Eat & Drink. The Saturday+ event will continue to allow exhibitors to celebrate with their invited guests into the evening. There will also be special opportunities for newcomers and startups—over 50 of whom participated last time—to present themselves in a compact space at the Areal Böhler.

'The community aspect of Trends Up West is especially important to us. We're not a large trade fair company dictating the agenda. We develop Trends Up West together with exhibitors and visitors, as we ourselves are exhibitors and know what the market demands—an event with spirit, charm, and a diverse, high-quality offering,' says Marco Hübecker (fleur ami).

Despite rising ancillary costs, pricing will remain stable: exhibitors can purchase visitor codes for admission tickets at €10, while the regular entrance fee will remain at €20.

Beyond the happenings at Areal Böhler, the state capital Düsseldorf offers a diverse array of art, culture, lifestyle, and shopping options, with excellent tips from the tourism office Visit Düsseldorf. Hotel prices have normalised following the European Championship year, and exhibitors and visitors can receive an additional 10% discount at various partner hotels. This makes the Trends Up West weekend an event with the perfect work-life balance.

'We are already looking forward to the next Trends Up West and will do everything we can to advance it even further. We invite all stakeholders—exhibitors, retailers, journalists, media partners, influencers, association representatives, and everyone else—to help shape Trends Up West together, as this fair belongs to all of us,' says project leader Christian Kasch, looking ahead to the next TUW.
