Hemtex plans larger store in Vällingby Centrum in response to declining sales

Hemtex reported a sales decline of 2.3% in the third quarter, totaling 315.4 million SEK, according to figures from its parent company, Kid. Online sales have experienced a more significant drop, plummeting by 15.4%. To counter this trend, Hemtex plans to expand its physical presence by opening a larger store in Vällingby Centrum, increasing the store size from 500 to 750 square meters.

'We look forward to expanding in Vällingby Centrum. The increased space gives us the opportunity to showcase our entire range in a more inspiring and clear way. With the new store, we can offer a better experience for our customers, where they can easily find inspiration and discover new favorites for their homes,' says Cecilia Rudenstam, Marketing Manager at Hemtex.

The initiative reflects Hemtex's strategy to attract customers back to brick-and-mortar locations amidst declining e-commerce sales, aiming to improve overall customer engagement and satisfaction.

Hemtex's relocation from its current location to a larger space in Vällingby Centrum will better display its wider assortment, including beds, sofas, and coffee tables. Rudenstam states that the expanded area will enhance the shopping experience, allowing customers to discover new favourites for their homes.
